This really is an objective product review of a beef grinder I lately purchased. Not because I break them burn them outbut since theyre simply not dishwasher safe, even if the maker claims them. While these are the smallest components, making them simple to hand wash, these components right contact the meat and Id feel much more comfortable if they may be sterilized. The auger and grinder body are mainly made of plastic, and may be washed in the dishwasher. To complicate mattersmost serious home cooks find this attachment to be rather worthless. Of the 800+ reviews on Amazon, more than 100 of them are crucial, 1 star reviews, referencing everything from alloy shavings ending up in the meat, to a blade so dull it simply jams every couple of minutes steel and needs to be disassembled steel and cleaned repeatedly during grinding, to the attachment straining the Kitchenaid mixer so much it blew out the motor.

Not many individuals who own this accessory finds that it generates an excellent grindthe beef ends up more mushy than meaty. For many years theyve promoted an all metal grinder attachment, but they’ve probably heard my endless pleas to Kitchenaid, since they’ve only released a complete stainless steel grinder attachment in the very affordable cost of $169 on their site.
